On January 6 at 11:00 am, the VP called Trump’s action “reckless”.

When Donald Trump Becomes Fat: Mike Pence, the Founding Father of the American Capitol, and the First Day of the Midterm Elections

Former Vice President Mike Pence criticized Donald Trump for being a part of the problem when he said on his social media that the attack on the US Capitol was reckless.

In the Trump White House, Pence was fiercely loyal in public through the constant controversies that defined the administration, but in the wake of the January 6 riot – in which Trump supporters chanted to hang the then-vice president – he has occasionally criticized his former boss, most notably in February, when he publicly denounced Trump’s election lies.

“President Trump is wrong,” Pence said at the time, referring to the false claim that Pence, in his capacity as vice president, had the authority to unilaterally reject Electoral College votes. There was no right for me to overturn the election.

Former Vice President Mike Pence stated in an interview that the US will have better choices in the future than former President Donald Trump, so he and his family are giving consideration to whether or not he should run for president in 2024.

In the midst of the election season, Trump and Pence sometimes supported opposing candidates in Arizona, Georgia and Wisconsin. The GOP campaigned with candidates who parroted Trump’s misrepresentation of fraud in the 2020 election, despite the fact that Pence was trying to steer the focus towards traditional conservative policies.

“You know, what I can tell you is I have every confidence that the Republican Party is going to sort out leadership,” Pence said last month, adding that his focus was on the midterm elections.

The town hall is on Wednesday, the day after the release of his book, “So Help Me God.” Jake Tapper, CNN anchor and chief Washington correspondent, moderated the town hall in New York City.

Asked if he thinks he can defeat Trump, who will make his intentions known on Tuesday, Pence said that it would be for the other people to decide.

The Vice-President’s No-Rescue Promise: How the Secret Service Replied to the Vice President, and Why he Left the Capitol

The former vice president said that he felt no fear as violence unfolded at the Capitol. I was filled with indignation about what I saw.”

Pence, echoing an excerpt of his book published last week in The Wall Street Journal, described how he disagreed with his Secret Service lead agent, who initially wanted the vice president to leave the Capitol building. As a compromise, Pence was taken to the loading dock, which he was told was more secure, but found the motorcade positioned to leave the Capitol.

I did not want the rioters to watch the vice president’s motorcade leave Capitol Hill. I didn’t want to give them that satisfaction,” he added.
